A legacy of excellence
We are proud of the standards we have set for ourselves since the beginning — our attention to detail, diligence, commitment, perseverance, and customer-first mindset — that inform and shape who we are today.
100+ year history
As our name suggests, our roots have a tartan connection, particularly to a young immigrant named Archie J. MacDermid who arrived in America with an entrepreneurial spirit and a do-or-die attitude. In 1922, he set up a small metal finishing business in Waterbury, Connecticut.

Our global footprint
To make a century-long story short, our incremental organic growth, coupled with a series of strategic acquisitions, has led MacDermid Enthone Industrial Solutions to where we are today, with more than 5,000 employees in over 80 countries worldwide.
