KeyKote 36

KeyKote 36 is a liquid concentrate zinc phosphate that produces very heavy, extremely fine-grained, high-quality phosphate coatings without requiring break-in additions of iron.  Lower coating weights of 6.5 - 16 g/m² can be produced with the addition of KeyKote 303 accelerator/iron control agent.

Applications

KeyKote 36 is especially suitable for the harsh environments found in the oil field industry, and anti-galling characteristics that are desirable on threaded products.  It also has many applications in automotive and other industries thanks to its corrosion protection and ability to hold cold forming and drawing lubricants.

Layer weight

KeyKote 36 can easily obtain weights between 21.5 - 48.5 g/m² on low carbon steel such as 1010, and coating weights between 19.4 - 58 g/m² on high-strength, low alloy steel including 4130.

Operational efficiency

The KeyKote 36 bath is easy to operate and maintain with wide operating and concentration ranges and exceptional process stability.  It also has a high tolerance for iron, extending bath life and reducing maintenance downtime.
